
About LASSA
The Laboratory of Surfactants and Associative Systems (LASSA) has been dedicated since 2015 to the study and development of innovative products and technological solutions involving surfactants, polymers, and nanotechnology, with a particular emphasis on smart stimulus-responsive systems.
Since its foundation, LASSA has been involved in several research and development projects, particularly in the oil and gas sector, through partnerships with companies such as Petrobras and Halliburton. To date, these collaborations have resulted in the development of one patented technology with each company.
In 2018, LASSA was selected as a finalist for the ANP Technological Innovation Award, granted by Brazil's National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels. In 2021, the laboratory was honored with the Petrobras Inventor Award.
Currently, LASSA is expanding its activities toward the development of innovative products for the cosmetics industry, leveraging the expertise and knowledge acquired over the years in the fields of surfactants and colloidal systems.
LASSA integrates expertise in Organic Chemistry, Colloid Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Rheology, and Nanotechnology to develop new products and technologies. In parallel, the laboratory contributes to the training of highly qualified professionals capable of bridging academic knowledge and technological applications, resulting in a new generation of distinguished researchers and innovators.
