Research Areas

LASSA is a research laboratory at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) dedicated to the study and development of innovative products and technological solutions involving surfactants, polymers, and nanotechnology. We are distinguished by our focus on smart, stimulus-responsive systems, integrating expertise in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Rheology, and Nanotechnology.

Currently, we are expanding our activities toward the development of novel cosmetic products, leveraging the extensive knowledge and experience we have accumulated over the years in the fields of surfactants and colloidal systems.

Highlights

Petrobras Inventor Award - 2021

In 2021, in collaboration with Petrobras, we developed the patent "Composition for Enhanced Oil Recovery and Its Use", for which we received the Inventor of the Year Award in recognition of the invention of the SPARTAN product.
