Prof. Jorge Rodrigues received his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with Technological Qualifications in 2006 and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 2010. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry, UFRJ.

Since 2001, he has been involved in numerous research and development projects in the fields of oil well drilling fluids, drag reduction, and enhanced oil recovery. He has extensive experience in the synthesis, characterization, and development of surfactants and smart micellar systems capable of responding to external stimuli.

Prof. Rodrigues currently serves as the coordinator of the Laboratory of Surfactants and Associative Systems (LASSA), located at the Shale Chemistry Center of the Institute of Chemistry, UFRJ. His research focuses on the nanotechnology of micellar systems, rheology of gels and viscoelastic systems, nanoparticles, and nanocapsules for applications in the oil and gas industry, particularly in well and reservoir technologies.

More recently, he has also been involved in the development of innovative products and solutions for the cosmetics industry, with a special emphasis on surfactant chemistry.
